Nexus takes steps to increase awareness with participation in Birmingham’s Memory Walk

Nexus Care Services will put its best foot forward next month by taking part in a Memory Walk for the Alzheimer’s Society in Birmingham.

The debilitating brain condition is common amongst the elderly and for many of the clients for whom Nexus Care Services provides care.

More than a dozen members of the home care provider’s team are hoping to raise awareness for the condition on the 16 September by walking up to seven kilometres around Sutton Park in an event organised by the Alzheimer’s Society.

Tinga Umera, Managing Director of Nexus, said: “The team is passionate about supporting the Alzheimer’s Society’s goal of eliminating this cruel disease.

“As carers, we are aware of the impact that Alzheimer’s has on individuals and their families.

“We have borne witness to the devastation that this condition causes, and we are committed to providing the very best care for sufferers, as well as raising awareness through events like this.”

Nexus offers carefully tailored care plans and expert support for individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

Tinga said: “We do our best to provide professional support and care for Alzheimer’s sufferers. Not just for the individual but also for the family.

“Everything we can do to maintain their dignity whilst they wrestle with this disease is also taken into consideration at Nexus.”

If you want to support those taking part, the Memory Walk will begin at 11am near the Jamboree Stone in the centre of Sutton Park.

Nexus Care Services is making a generous donation to the Alzheimer’s Society to support their participation.

“I would really recommend taking part! They are a great opportunity to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer’s disease,” said Tinga.
