Long-service awards

We love to celebrate our long-serving carers who show dedication, compassion and heart year after year.

These incredible team members not only support their colleagues but build lasting and meaningful relationships with their clients.

We reward their dedication and commitment through our long service awards recognising two, five and seven years of service.

For example, Abeer recently celebrated two years with us.

Her gentle approach, reliability and heartfelt care remind us that every moment matters our clients.

She brings warmth and calm to everyone she supports and is always ready to lend a hand to her colleagues too.

In 2024, we presented Laila and Hazel with their two-year long-service awards, and we also honoured Michaela, Kelly, and Paula for each dedicating a remarkable five years to Nexus Care Services.

Their ability to connect with and understand the needs of those they care for is nothing short of remarkable.

They have consistently demonstrated a high level of professionalism and empathy, which has not only endeared them to clients but also made them role models for the team.

Carer’s Spotlight

Our Carer’s Spotlight feature showcases the outstanding work of our carers and gives us an opportunity to publicly thank them for their exceptional dedication.

For example, we recently shared a spotlight on Natalie, a carer who has been with Nexus for just under a year.

She goes above and beyond for the company, her colleagues and her clients, often picking up extra runs to support as much as she can.

We receive nothing but excellent feedback from clients about how attentive and caring Natalie is.

We’ve also spotlighted Joanne, a member of our Tamworth team who often steps in to cover evenings, weekends, and local calls. Joanne is kind, caring, and professional, and we frequently receive glowing feedback about the way she engages with clients.

Another carer we were delighted to spotlight is Paul, who joined Nexus in October 2024 and has quickly increased his availability to support the team, often starting early and working long days to assist his regular clients and build strong relationships.

On one occasion, when a colleague had trouble with a jammed key safe, Paul immediately came over on his day off to help, showing his commitment to the team and clients.

These acts of kindness and care do not go unnoticed, and we are proud to celebrate our carers work ethic and commitment with our Carer’s Spotlight series.

External care awards

Our carers’ work is too exceptional to be recognised only within the company.

That’s why we submit our team members for external care awards.

Sharon, our dedicated volunteer for Nexus Events, was recently nominated for a Staffordshire Dignity in Care Award.

The Staffordshire Dignity in Care Awards are now in their eleventh year and celebrate those in the county’s independent care sector who consistently go above and beyond to place dignity at the core of their work.

Sharon has worked tirelessly to support our clients, ensuring that dignity and care are at the heart of every outing. Her warmth, commitment and care have helped make each event a special experience for everyone involved.

Our Senior Carer Noreen was also nominated at last year’s Staffordshire Dignity in Care Awards.

Sharon and Noreen’s recognition at these prestigious awards is testament to their dedication, care, and effort.
