There is much publicity at the moment focusing on care staff shortages that care homes, social care providers, hospitals and private providers of care face on a daily basis. Essential frontline workers around the UK face more challenges than most can only imagine given the 2020 lockdown caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. It is evident that the majority of healthcare employers are finding recruitment a challenge leaving gaps in care across the region.

As we approach the winter season, the NHS typically sees an increase in elderly and vulnerable patients requiring hospitalisation from increased falls, seasonal illnesses and the increased rise of Covid-19 cases which all adds to the fact that the NHS are doing an exemplary job to try to reduce the backlog that was created in 2020 ongoing into 2021.

We currently offer all our carers in Sutton Coldfield, Tamworth & Lichfield; Full time hours (37+), Part time Morning contracts (10-15 hours), Evening contracts (10-15 hours) and even Live in bookings.

We can work around your availability with shifts available for Weekday mornings, evenings & weekends. At Nexus Care Services we pride ourselves on improving people’s lives by promoting independence and choice through the delivery of professional, high quality care so we always offer the most experienced and trained carers in the region.

In addition to flexible work, we have one of the industry’s best rates of pay with hourly pay starting at £10.25ph for weekdays, £11.60ph for weekend work and increasing further to £12.00 when working in a teams of two. Our carers often earn over £500 a week when working 40 hours Monday-Friday and 8 hours over a Saturday & Sunday each week.

DOUBLE TIME on Bank Holidays and we pay weekly too.

There are numerous other benefits of working for us including paid training & development (including the care certificate, basic life support, manual handling and mandatory), two free uniforms, paid travel time, paid holiday, premium pay rate and a Universal Agreement for Employment.

Even though none of us could have predicted the impact that Covid-19 would cause, it has made it clear the consequences of how others have been left behind in our society although they still need care and support. At Nexus we continually work hard to ensure our carers are treated with the utmost respect and paid very well to show our continued appreciation for the amazing job they do. We also want to be sure that the people of Sutton Coldfield, Tamworth & Lichfield can access the care that they need, when they need it.

One of the main things that the pandemic has highlighted is the sheer resilience, dedication and bravery shown by all front line workers, despite each and every one of them being directly affected by Covid-19 in some capacity. All of our carers have continued to work caring for those most vulnerable and it’s about time they were rewarded with exceptional pay and fair working hours
