What will I be doing?

Being a home carer means supporting people who rely on you to stay safe, well and independent in their own homes. This includes:

Personal care

Washing, dressing, toileting and helping clients maintain dignity

Medication support

Prompting or assisting with prescribed medication

Mobility assistance

Helping clients move safely, including use of equipment

Light housekeeping

Tidying, changing bedding and daily routine tasks

Emotional support

Offering companionship and reassurance

Record keeping

Writing clear notes after each visit

Some visits will be gentle and chatty, whilst others may be more of a challenge. Whatever happens, we will be there to support you.

There may be days that challenge you and days that remind you exactly why you chose this career but every day you will have made a difference to someone’s life by bringing comfort to those who need it most. What a wonderful career to be part of!
