As the summer months draw to a close, we wanted to reflect on what has been a busy but exciting period. We’ve celebrated the achievements of carers and volunteers, raised money for the Good Hope Hospital charity, recorded valuable podcasts, and covered important topics that matter within the care sector.
For the second year in a row, we were named as one of the top 20 care providers in the West Midlands by homecare.co.uk. The award and recognition celebrate the high standard of care we provide our clients and their families.
It is an honour to be recognised for a second consecutive year and be the only care service providers in Sutton Coldfield to make the top 20.
This would not have been possible without our fantastic team of carers, and they, too, have been celebrating after reaching personal service milestones. We are nothing without our brilliant carers, and each one deserves recognition for the outstanding work they do.
It’s not just our carers we’ve been highlighting this summer, we had the pleasure of attending the Staffordshire County Council Dignity in Care Awards to support one of our amazing volunteers, Sharon from the Nexus events team, who had been nominated for an award.
Sharon goes above and beyond. Her contributions to the community continue to make an impact. We are truly grateful to have her as part of our team, and this nomination highlights the amazing work she does.
In addition to this, we are proud to be based in Sutton Coldfield, and while we serve our clients across the town and wider areas, we also support local charities and build close connections with the amazing people behind them.
At the start of the summer, the Nexus team completed the Royal Sutton Coldfield fun run and raised an amazing £678.00 for the Good Hope Hospital charity. With having such close connections to the hospital, we couldn’t think of a better charity to support and raise funds that we know will make a huge difference.
As well as continuing to support local charities, we have continued to discuss important topics in the care sector in our dedicated podcast. Over the summer, we have talked about a career in care, the challenges facing the sector, the upcoming Employment Rights Bill, and how we support our team.
The podcasts we record are so important because we want people to understand how the care sector operates, why it is so rewarding, and how hard we work to provide outstanding care and support to our clients and their families.
Which is why we continue to spotlight areas of care in regular articles and blogs. Throughout the summer, we’ve written articles discussing important issues, including round-the-clock care, preventative care, the value in home care, the importance of open and honest communication and compassionate support.
It has been a very busy summer but one that we will remember. It’s always good to take a step back and reflect on what we have achieved and look forward to the rest of 2025 ahead of a busy autumn and winter.
