Shortlisting for national award highlights Nexus’ transformative team approach

In its third awards shortlisting in two weeks, Sutton Coldfield-based Nexus Care Services has been named as a finalist for the Caring UK Awards – for the second year running!

Nexus is on the shortlist for both the 2024 Employer of the Year and Commitment to Training and Development awards, highlighting its dedication to its team’s wellbeing and ongoing development.

As an employer, Nexus takes an innovative approach to supporting staff – including mental health support and career development opportunities both in-house and externally.

Having recently been shortlisted for the Family Business Awards, it prioritises family values, valuing each team member and supporting their families through paid-for breakfast club options for children, flexible, block and weekend contracts suitable for working parents or guardians, and the opportunity to help clients in the community.

Tinga Umera, Managing Director of Nexus Care Services, said: “This has been a fantastic couple of weeks for our team, and we’re honoured to have been shortlisted for the Caring UK awards!

“We’re dedicated to providing outstanding care to our clients and the local community – and this starts with creating an inclusive culture that prioritises professional development and treating all colleagues as members of the family.

“Thank you to every member of our team who has made this achievement possible, from our committed carers to our experienced management team. It’s a shared responsibility to make Nexus a great place to work, and it’s one we all take seriously.”

Now in its 7th year, The Caring UK Awards celebrate excellence in elderly and domiciliary care. The awards will take place at a glamorous ceremony on 5 December 2024 at Leicester’s fantastic Athena venue.
