Nexus Care team celebrates success at Staffordshire Dignity in Care Awards

It was another night of celebrations for us, this time at the Staffordshire Dignity in Care Awards, as two colleagues were honoured by judges.

Senior Carer, Amanda Dunn and Events Manager, Monica Paraschiv were shortlisted for honours at the awards hosted by Staffordshire County Council.

Amanda narrowly missed out on winning the title of Community Service Dignity Champion, but the organisers of the awards praised her continued outstanding contribution to Nexus’s care clients and her drive to gain skills and training during her long, successful career at the care group.

However, it was Monica who stormed to victory to pick up a trophy for her incredible work supporting the launch of Nexus Events – a unique service within the group that provides supported events and trips for people over the age of 50 in Tamworth, Lichfield and Sutton Coldfield.

We launched this service a year ago to combat loneliness within communities and meet a demand for local events post-pandemic.

It has gone from strength to strength, bringing together dozens of people to socialise and helping those in care complete once-in-a-lifetime trips overseas.

Speaking about her win, Monica said: “It is a real honour to be recognised for my work launching Nexus Events. Our first year has been incredible and it is pleasing to see that so many people have benefited from this service.

“I hope that we continue to see great success and can expand this groundbreaking assistance to many others across Staffordshire and beyond.”

Director Samuel Court added: “Both Amanda and Monica have shown incredible passion and determination for what they do.

“The difference they have made to so many people’s lives is undeniable, and we are incredibly proud to have them as part of our team. I would like to congratulate them on behalf of everyone at Nexus Care Services.”
