Nexus Care Services registers for TDDI to deliver complex care packages

Nexus Care Services has registered with the Care Quality Commission to deliver Treatment of Disease, Disorder and Injury (TDDI), extending its existing award-winning home care and live-in care provision into nurse-led clinical care.

The move gives those requiring care and professional referrers, including IFAs, solicitors, insurers and case managers, a locally established provider in the Midlands that they can refer complex cases to.

Every nurse-led package sits under a single line of clinical accountability, from a named Clinical Lead through a team of registered nurses to competency-assessed TDDI practitioners.

“Case managers, solicitors and IFAs have told us for some time that they need a provider who can evolve packages from personal care through to full clinical nursing without a client having to move providers as their needs change.

“TDDI registration formalises what we have been building towards and gives referrers the assurance that comes with a defined clinical standard rather than an informal arrangement,” said Tinga Umera, managing director of Nexus Care Services.

The service will aim to support conditions such as spinal injury, traumatic brain injury, diabetes, dementia, COPD, heart failure and palliative and end-of-life care.

Its team will be trained to offer specialist clinical support, including PEG and enteral feeding, ventilated care, tracheostomy care, wound care, stoma and catheter care and virtual ward monitoring.

Nexus plans to track outcomes against every package, including hospital admissions avoided, readmissions prevented and people remaining independent at home, using cloud-based platforms to share reporting with families, case managers and funders.

“We are a family business and have built our reputation over more than a decade on the ground in Sutton Coldfield, Tamworth and Lichfield.

“Bringing that same standard of care into nurse-led services means GPs, families and professionals referring into us are working with a provider whose governance and track record can be relied upon,” added John Court, founder of Nexus Care Services

Professionals wishing to discuss a referral, or to arrange an introduction to the Nexus clinical team, can contact Nexus Care Services on 0121 308 2906 or via nexuscareservices.co.uk.
