Nexus Care Services celebrates prestigious Home Care Employer Award win at the Great British Care Awards 2024

Nexus Care Services is thrilled to be named the regional winner (Midlands) of the Home Care Employer Award at the Great British Care Awards 2024.

The award ceremony, a hallmark of excellence in social care, brought together the best in the industry to recognise outstanding achievements across the UK.

This year, Nexus was nominated in three categories, which also included Best Home Care Registered Manager for Tinga Umera and Putting People First Award – with its win in the coveted Home Care Employer Award underscoring its commitment to creating a supportive and empowering environment for its team.

The judges praised Nexus, which provides care in Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield and Tamworth, for its innovative approach to care, highlighting their person-centred ethos and unwavering dedication to both clients and carers.

With a keen focus on understanding the individual needs of each client, Nexus delivers tailored, high-quality care supported by a structured, highly skilled team available around the clock.

Nexus champions the welfare of its team, placing staff well-being at the core of the business. It is the reason why Nexus has a number of carers who have enjoyed a long service of more than 5 years.

It has led the way by offering amazing employment benefits packages for all of its team that far exceed the normal expectations for the industry, including pay that is well above the National Living Wage and funding for breakfast clubs to support working parents.

Recently, Nexus became one of the first in the sector to introduce fixed, contract hours – moving beyond traditional employment models to provide stability and security for its staff.

Alongside its competitive rates of pay, Nexus has invested significantly in training and upskilling its team, helping several members of staff to acquire qualifications and dedicated nursing skills.

Nexus Care Services stood out for its unique approach to supporting carers, which now propels the company into the National Finals, set to take place in spring 2025.

As Nexus Care Services celebrates this incredible achievement, Managing Director Tinga Umera said: “Winning the Home Care Employer Award is an honour and a testament to the hard work of our entire team, who are central to our ongoing success.

“This achievement simply wouldn’t have been possible without our staff – from our management team down to our most junior carers, they have all played a huge role in our success.

“Our commitment is to enhance the lives of those we care for and provide a supportive, rewarding environment for our staff.

“Winning the regional award is great, but we are equally excited to represent our region at the national finals next year as we continue making strides in innovative, person-centred careers in care.”

As well as winning an award, Nexus was equally proud of its shortlistings at these awards, with recognised Tinga’s own incredible work driving growth within the organisation as a registered manager and Monica Parschiv’s dedication to putting people first through the creation of Nexus Events.

Founded by Monica more than two years ago, Nexus Events has become a lifeline for many people across Birmingham and beyond by providing social outings and holidays that help to reduce the impact of social isolation by offering support and care.

Nexus Care Services remains committed to fostering a caring, forward-thinking environment that meets the needs of clients and carers alike, embodying the values celebrated by the Great British Care Awards on a national scale.
