Read moreNexus Care Services is proudly celebrating Tinga Umera’s shortlisting for the Community Unsung Hero Award at the upcoming Multicultural Business and Community Champion (MBCC) awards.
Tinga’s nomination was built on his work supporting the community both as a leader in social care, via Nexus Care Services support, and his dedication to several local charities.
Earlier this year, Tinga participated in the Wolverhampton 10K to raise funds for Cardiac Risk in the Young, which helped to raise more than £3,000.
Tinga also participated in the 10K Peak District’s Big Hike in support of Cancer Research and participated in The Race Against Dementia by climbing the Wrekin in Telford at the start of 2024.
He has also helped to drive Nexus Care Services ongoing support of Birmingham’s memory walk and has pushed initiatives, such as Nexus Events, which are delivering innovative new ways of helping people that require care to get out and about to enjoy new activities.
As Managing Director of leading home care provider Nexus Care Services, this nomination adds yet another prestigious title to the growing accolades the care group based in Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield and Tamworth have collected during the last 18 months.
“Based on the description of the award, it’s no surprise that Tinga has been nominated for this category,” said Samuel Court, Director at Nexus Care Services.
“Tinga tirelessly works to support people, both in his role as Managing Director and outside of it – always on his initiative and without ever seeking recognition. He is the epitome of a community hero.”
Founded in 2016, the MBCC awards celebrate diversity and are dedicated to recognizing the unsung heroes who significantly enrich both businesses and the wider community.
The Community Unsung Hero award honours an individual who consistently goes above and beyond to help others, acting selflessly and modestly.
Tinga must now face a public vote, which will decide the final shortlist. Voting commenced on Wednesday, July 24th and ends on Wednesday, August 7th before the final awards night on 30th November.
