We’ve been named as finalists in three categories at the Great British Care Awards!

It’s a double treble for us this month, with the news that we again have three finalists for an award, this time for the Great British Care Awards!

First up, we were shortlisted in the Putting People First/Personalisation category, highlighting our client-first approach that prioritises independence and wellbeing through tailored home care and support.

Beyond the home, our Nexus Events service has helped clients to stay active and meet new people – from day trips, shopping excursions and meals out to nights away and overseas visits, all supported by a care team.

Marking its second anniversary, the Events team recently organised a three-night holiday for a group of 11 clients to picturesque Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire.

We’ve also been nominated in the Home Care Employer category – recognising a talented team and an inclusive culture of flexibility and professional development.

Finally, Managing Director, Tinga Umera, has also gained a place on the shortlist for Best Home Care Registered Manager.

His keen understanding of home care services has driven a number of key successes for us.

With years of experience in the care industry, Tinga has progressed through the company to his current role, gaining a thorough understanding of the needs of clients and staff.

His leadership has seen us achieve a perfect 10 Homecare score, a Good CQC rating and the opening of Nexus Children’s Services for children and young people, as well as being named a finalist in the Family Business Awards 2024 and a Top 20 Home Care Provider in the West Midlands.

Tinga said: “It’s an incredible honour to be shortlisted for these awards, for myself and for the entire Nexus team.

“We pride ourselves on professional development, client care and proactive leadership, values at the very heart of these awards. It’s fantastic that we have been shortlisted for three awards on this basis – demonstrating the wide-ranging impact of exceptional home care.

“We put clients at the centre of everything we do, so it’s particularly rewarding for us all to be recognised on this scale for our commitment to individualised care that puts people first.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the team for their incredible work with clients and the community. It is our dedicated team that makes successes like this possible – and it’s a success that we all share!”

Winners in all categories are set to be announced on 2 November 2024 at a highly anticipated celebration at ICC Birmingham. Look out for news from the awards night in a future newswire!
