Imagine a job where you do not only help someone with their daily routine, but you also provide companionship and support that your clients truly value…
This is the rewarding reality for a carer, a role that makes an impact and a significant difference in someone’s everyday life.
Whether you are looking for a meaningful change in your career or you are a compassionate individual eager to make a difference, a career in care offers enriching and fulfilling rewards, including:
As a carer, your role has a direct and positive impact on your client’s daily lives.
You might find yourself assisting elderly individuals, supporting adults with disabilities or helping those recovering from illnesses.
Each day brings a new opportunity to deliver comfort, support and happiness.
The support you provide will vary greatly depending on your client’s needs. You will be assisting with daily tasks like helping with meals, providing support with personal care and hygiene, and offering companionship, all to improve their quality of life.
This is what truly sets apart a career in care.
Our team regularly receive heartwarming feedback on how they have changed our clients’ lives, such as:
“Mark has used Nexus since 2016 and they have been absolutely marvellous. As his care needs have escalated, they have kept pace with his requirements. The carers from Nexus always come on time and do exactly what they are supposed to – they are 100% reliable which is really important.
“He has a team of around six regular carers, and they go above and beyond – not only in the level of care they provide but also in the companionship they provide, as they have struck up a really close friendship with him,” says Sara, Mark’s advocate.
The world of care is always changing, requiring carers to continually adapt and solve new problems.
Each client has their own unique needs and requirements, which keeps the environment lively and engaging. This diversity pushes carers to continuously develop their skills and knowledge, ensuring that no two days are the same.
At Nexus Care, we encourage and prioritise continuous development for both new and experienced carers, to ensure they are well-prepared for the diverse needs of our clients.
We provide a fully funded Care Certificate that covers essential training for starting a career in care. This allows new carers to begin their roles confidently and without financial burden.
Our commitment also extends beyond basic training.
We offer a variety of training opportunities, addressing both basic and complex aspects of care.
As part of our dedication to providing ongoing training for our team, we offer National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) to our staff as well as additional advanced courses. Some of these courses include (but are not limited to):
And more!
If a carer feels they want extra support in a specific area of their care, we can provide the niche training to help them progress.
This training is designed to enhance your skills and support your career progression.
For example, carers can have the opportunity to move on to becoming senior carers, where they take on more responsibilities and supervisory duties.
Beyond hands-on care, there are also opportunities to transition into office positions (when available). These roles might include a care coordinator, where you support and organise the delivery of care services.
With Nexus Care, you join a pathway that evolves with you.
Few career paths offer the same level of personal fulfilment found in caring.
Each day brings new challenges and learning opportunities, keeping the role engaging and diverse.
Carers can enjoy the daily reward of seeing the direct impact of their work on the happiness and well-being of their clients.
Amanda, one of our senior carers, shares her experience and says: “I’ll come home from work sometimes, and I’ve had a good day with all the clients I love, and I think I’m getting paid for something I really enjoy doing.”
We believe that carers hard work must be recognised, which is why we offer highly competitive pay and excellent working conditions.
We have a variety of job roles available, which are tailored to different lifestyles and career goals, including full-time, part-time and weekend contracts.
Our full-time contracts are perfect for experienced carers, who are looking for financial stability and a consistent routine. With a salary of £26,000 per year, plus an additional car allowance of £2,000, these full-time contracts ensure a reliable income and guaranteed work hours, crucial during a cost-of-living crisis.
For those looking for additional income, we also offer weekend contract opportunities. Starting on Friday evenings and concluding after 20 hours over the weekend, this compact schedule allows carers to earn up to £1200 per month, balancing personal time effectively.
Our hourly rates start at £12.00 per hour on weekdays and increasing to £12.50 on weekends. In addition, carers working in teams of two are paid £12.75 per hour.
On bank holidays, our carers can earn up to £25.00 per hour, reflecting our commitment to rewarding hard work and dedication.
