Read moreAs it marks its 10th anniversary, Sutton Coldfield-based Nexus Care Services proudly announces a significant rise in hourly rates for its dedicated care staff – aligning with a wider ambition of changing the employment market in the sector.
Providing care services in Sutton Coldfield, Tamworth, Lichfield and beyond, Nexus already offers an enhanced experience for its staff, including flexible hours, paid training opportunities and additional pay for bank holiday hours.
As part of its commitment to its carers and delivering a premium care service to its clients, Nexus has taken a significant step in its strategy to recruit, retain and develop the best staff in care.
What can Nexus offer?
Nexus is investing an extra £100,000 per year into its team, reflecting its position as a stand-out provider of home care – and giving back to its dedicated team.
Carers at Nexus can access competitive hourly rates, with a full-time team member now earning £24,000 per year on average.
Staff working with couples or on ‘double-up’ shifts will also be offered higher rates, meaning that those working overtime or a longer working week can earn in excess of £32,000 per year!
Additionally, with an innovative approach to working hours, Nexus has also made weekend contracts available to its care team, in addition to block calls which offer guaranteed paid hours during times which the sector has traditionally struggled to cover.
Continuing development
Nexus is dedicated to employing staff in line with its values of independence, person-centred care and operating as a family-run business.
This means going beyond investing in fair remuneration for staff and growing a development programme which supports long-term progression for carers.
In addition to its pay structure, Nexus is proud to offer a paid Care Certificate to staff, supporting a comprehensive understanding of:
This ensures that, not only are staff rewarded for the care they provide, they are able to grow their careers at a pace that suits each person.
Comprehensive mandatory training is also offered, including basic life support and manual handling to ensure that staff and clients are safe and have their needs met during the caring relationship.
A lasting commitment
Managing Director, Tinga Umera, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be able to offer this recognition to our amazing carers.
“Their skill and dedication has made Nexus who we are today and allows us to support person-centred care within the community.
“Offering competitive rates of pay to our care team is just one of the ways that we’re able to demonstrate our appreciation and that of our clients – supporting our care staff in continuing their fantastic work.
“As we mark our 10th anniversary, we reaffirm our commitment to being a leader in employment and staff development in the sector, for the benefit of our staff and our clients.”
